Just Sayin'

I clicked on Instapundit's Amazon St. Valentine's Day sale link this morning.

This knife holder guy, "The EX" caught my eye.

Here's a closer view.

I'm not offended. It's artsy and kinda cool. I could see how someone might like it, but it's a bit too ghoulish for my kitchen. I don't have an ex anyway.

But do you think they would market this if the figure were a woman?

Just sayin'

My second thought when I saw that was "Too wasteful of space." After all, the kitchen is one place in your house where function should trump form - unless, I suppose, you're a typical Yuppie in which case every purchase is a lifestyle statement.

First thought was "Do they offer one shaped like a woman? If not, why not?"

The "why not" is rhetorical, by the way. It would be a hate crime. Well, unless it had Sarah Pain's face on it, then it'd be edgy and bold. I can shrug off the smug sanctimonious hypocrisy of the "Arts" community so long as they remain irrelevant to daily life.

Ahh living not far from a major Pacific Northwest Reservation I have to point out that RED MEN with multiple knife wounds would be considered a hate crime by both the Native Americans as well as their Red Neck Neigbors!!

Gosh, if they were to be had in yellow, brown and white. We'd all be equal. Well 'ceptin for the gender thingy.

This shows that the official ideology of the US today is female supremacy and dehumanization of men.

That women buy this says that whatever women accuse men of is pure projection.

Google 'the Misandry Bubble' for much, much more.

My first thought was "poor taste." My second was "misandry."

It would be a lot more challenging to craft a female image. You would have to add the house, the kids, the cars and all of the money(of course, it could hold a lot more knives). With a male divorcee, it's simple because he has no stuff.
